So they gave us the soother (or dummy)
And we were told to look on the bright side
For the peace dove to descend on our roof tops!

So we talked, talked and talked
We declared a halt; and called it “C.F.A”
We were told to look on the bright side
For Norway will wave the peace wand!

Media circus came to town; and we talked
We churned out statements; explanations and considerations
We narrowly stumbled; very nearly pawned our goal
We were told to look on the bright side
While gun shots rang and many lives got wiped out!

Yet we talked, and talked about Talks
The substance was plutocratic piffle
We were told to look on the bright side
“The ball is in your court Machang” they said, “This is the name of the game!”

We talked, and prepared to talk
While the Internationals cheered (with an agenda)
Nordic nerds jeered while HR reports kicked up a farce
We were told to look on the bright side
Because moon is made of Wensleydale cheese!

Now we know they have ganged up on us
To break us and lay a siege
We will shout from our roof tops
And call it the genocide of an ancient nation

They are killing us! Surprise, surprise, yet again…
And commanding to dig our graves
This is no Tom and Jerry
Perhaps Tamils aren’t your favourite curry
Hence it isn’t a human rights issue! Disgrace!!

Friends! Do you still want us to look on the bright side?
Tell me on which bloody side is your volley?
The question is who got us on this mad folly
Looking on the bright side? O, Golly!
